Founded in 1994, Bakon Mühendislik AŞ was established to provide maintenance and repair services to newspapers and printing houses. (The company name is derived from the Turkish words for BAKım (Maintenance) and ONarım (Repair).)
Over the years, in addition to technical services, Bakon has acquired the distributorship of prominent companies in the printing industry, primarily focusing on Vulcan offset printing blankets.
Bakon later pioneered the establishment of Turkey’s first blanket framing workshop. By importing Vulcan blankets in rolls and offering free cutting and framing services, Bakon not only met customer demands much faster but also propelled the Vulcan brand to become the market leader, a position it still holds today.
To ensure uninterrupted service to its customers, Bakon maintains thousands of square meters of blankets in stock at all times. To further shorten delivery times, Bakon undertook the challenging task of manufacturing its own blanket frames, which were previously imported. Today, Bakon produces all the frames it uses, with a portion also being exported.
Operating from a 3,000 m² facility in the İkitelli Organized Industrial Zone with a team of 20 employees, Bakon imports consumables essential for printing, sourced from over 30 renowned global companies, focusing on items not produced domestically. Some of these products are processed and cut to deliver fast and high-quality service to hundreds of printing houses.
As one of the most respected companies in the printing industry, Bakon has been named the “Best Blanket Supplier” for four consecutive years by Matbaa ve Teknik Magazine. Additionally, it has received the “Best Dealer” award from the manufacturers of Vulcan blankets.
Beyond blanket solutions, Bakon’s technical team installs centralized ink pumping systems from its partner, Technotrans, for printing houses. A significant portion of the ink pumping systems operating in Turkey have been installed by Bakon.
In recent years, Bakon has expanded its service range by becoming the official distributor of Toka, a Japanese giant specializing in UV inks, and Kruse, an Italian expert in lacquer blankets.
